The Louisville Youth Orchestra offers an extraordinary opportunity for young musicians in our community. Each member receives nearly 125 hours of rehearsal with professional conductors, inspiring performance opportunities, and innovative programs. The cost of providing these opportunities averages approximately $1,500 per member each year.
The LYO strives, however, to keep membership fees as affordable as possible. Membership in the core programs is $520 per year with discounts for families with more than one member and with scholarships to make membership possible for those without financial means.
So where does the remaining money come from? Major support is provided by the Fund for Arts, the Kentucky Arts Council, special grants, and generous contributors. It's easy to see that programming would not be possible without this additional support.
The Louisville Youth Orchestra has met the Better Business Bureau’s 20 Standards for Charity Accountability and is a BBB Accredited Charity. Click here to view the LYO’s full charity report.
