LYO Patrons
The Louisville Youth Orchestra offers an extraordinary opportunity for young musicians in our community. Members receives approximately 100 hours of rehearsal with professional conductors, inspiring performance opportunities, and innovative programs. The cost of providing these opportunities averages approximately $1,400 per member each year.
The LYO strives, however, to keep membership fees as affordable as possible. Membership in the core programs is $550 per year with discounts for families with more than one member and with scholarships to make membership possible for those without financial means.
So where does the remaining money come from? Major support is provided by the Fund for the Arts, the Kentucky Arts Council, special grants, and generous contributors. It's easy to see that programming would not be possible without this additional support.

How can I help?
There are several ways you can help the LYO maintain its mission:
Family Sponsorship Program
Each fall, families and community sponsors can donate to help cover the costs of the season such as music, rehearsal and performance hall rental, performance production, conductor salaries and scholarships. This additional support goes a long way in helping keep the LYO economically viable. Your tax-deductible contribution of $250 or $500 goes directly toward providing a total musical experience for our members.
Scholarship Program
The LYO believes in breaking down barriers to participation and the LYO scholarship fund is one key way to support students who demonstrate financial need. Visit this page to learn more about the LYO scholarship program. To contribute to the LYO scholarship fund, simply designate your gift as intended for scholarships.
Business Sponsorship
Businesses can sponsor concerts or special programs throughout the season. The LYO offers packages to meet a variety of giving levels and interests. Sponsorships are a great way to support the LYO with your tax-deductible donation.
Online Contributions
Online contributions are greatly appreciated. Businesses or individuals may charge a gift of any amount. Use the Donate button below to begin a secure transaction.
