JOIN THE LYO
We want YOU to join us for an exciting season of learning and performing a wide variety of music and making new friends! The LYO includes 8 ensembles that serve a wide range of skill levels from beginner to advanced and nearly everything in between.
Only 3 steps are needed to audition:
1 - select two excerpts from the LYO audition packets (packets forthcoming)
2 - register for your audition (form forthcoming)
3 - pay the audition fee

Sunday, August 27, 2023—winds/brass
Wednesday, August 30, 2023—West Louisville location
Saturday, September 2, 2023—strings
Sunday, September 3, 2023—winds/brass/strings/percussion
After registering, you will receive an audition date and tentative time by email. Most auditions will take place at Louisville Collegiate School.
Our acceptance rates are high so we encourage you to register to audition! Auditions are essential for placement in the appropriate ensemble. All returning LYO students audition each year. Learn more about the LYO here.

SCHOLARSHIPS
Generous need-based scholarships are available to assist with the cost of membership and private music instruction.
To apply for a need-based scholarship, submit an LYO Scholarship Application in early September.

Our students represented over 80 schools from 16 counties in Kentucky and southern Indiana in 2022-2023.
Approximately 1 in 4 students received LYO scholarships toward membership and/or private lessons.
