The Louisville Youth Orchestra, in conjunction with the Oldham County School System and the Louisville Central Area Community Center in offering an orchestra class for string students with one year of traditional instruction or Suzuki students ready to develop their reading skills.  This class provides young string players experience with rudimentary skills of playing in a string ensemble and the basics of note reading.  Students who play violin, viola, cello or bass will be accepted.  Students having successfully completed the Presto! Strings classes are automatically accepted into the Sonatina Strings.

Students involved in these classes will perform in concert during the school year and will participate in some activities of the nationally known Louisville Youth Orchestra.  In addition, students will be encouraged to participate in summer activities, area workshops and private lessons.

  Oldham County Arts Center Saturdays, 9:00-10:00

• Instruction by professional conductors of the Louisville Youth Orchestra
• Cost for the entire school year is $300
