LYO Members Perform with Zade Dirani

Eight Louisville Youth Orchestra members recently had the opportunity to perform with Jordanian composer and pianist Zade Dirani in his "Roads to You Louisville" concert. Daniel Rothenberg, Mike Lambert, Ilona Limonta-Volkova, Kenney Ulrich, Miranda Martin, Chip Carnes, Elena Dias, and Lindsey Becker, all string players in the LYO Symphony Orchestra, took the stage at Male HS Auditorium May 19th to be part of this special event.

LYO strings joined forces with professional orchestra members who regularly tour with Zade to backup the gifted pianist in many of his own compositions. Zade's "Roads to You" tour promotes cultural understanding, tolerance, and peace as his music attempts to break down barriers between cultures and religions and promote diversity.

The LYO members worked closely with Zade and the other musicians throughout their week of residency in Louisville. They leave the experience with hopefully not only an exciting performance,  but also learning more about different styles of music and the cultures of the many countries represented.
