Financial Facts
The
Louisville Youth Orchestra offers an extraordinary opportunity for
young musicians in our community. Each member receives nearly 100
hours of rehearsal with professional conductors, inspiring
performance opportunities, and innovative programs. The cost
of providing these opportunities averages approximately $1,000 per
member each year.
The LYO strives,
however, to keep membership fees as affordable as possible.
Membership in the core programs is $350 per year with discounts for
families with more than one member and with scholarships to make
membership possible for those without financial means.
So where does the remaining money come from? Major support
is provided by the Fund for Arts. Support is also received
from the Kentucky Arts Council, special grants, and generous
contributors. It's easy to see that programming would not be
possible without additional support.
