through power2give! There are four more projects that need funding so
please send your email acquaintances, relatives, co-workers and facebook
friends to this location! Generous donations from Republic Bank and the
Kentucky Arts Council will match any gift given dollar for dollar. Our

Fund for the Arts Campaign
The Fund for the Arts Campaign begins this Tuesday, January 31!
Our very own LYO Saxophone Choir will be performing at the FFTA
Kickoff at the Brown Theater beginning at noon! Stop by to support
our great ensemble! If you donate to the Fund through your place
of business or personally did you know you can direct your gift to the
LYO???? Designating your gift means the LYO will receive 100% of your
donation with no administrative fees taken out! Simply write “Designate
to the Louisville Youth Orchestra” on your check and donor card. This is
a great way to help the LYO in our fundraising efforts!

Parents donating $250 via this method will receive two season tickets,
one CD for each concert and mention in all programs. A $500 donation
will receive four season tickets and all other premiums.

States of America,
beginning in the summer of 2013!

Program Seeks Finest Young Musicians—Ages 16 to 19—From Across the US
World-Renowned Conductor Valery Gergiev To Lead NYO-USA in its Inaugural
Year Two-Week Summer 2013 Residency at Purchase College, State
University of New York, To Culminate with Debut Performance in
Washington DC, Followed by Exciting International Tour to Moscow, St.
Petersburg, and London
The first National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America will
come together from June 30 through July 23, 2013. Students from all 50
states who are US citizens or permanent residents, ages 16-19 during the
period of the 2013 summer program (participants’ birthdates between July
1, 1993 and June 30, 1997), are invited to apply to Carnegie Hall’s new
NYO-USA program. Students who are enrolled full-time in a college-level
conservatory or university music department with instrumental
performance as a major will not be eligible. Musicians may apply on the
following instruments: violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, oboe,
clarinet, bassoon, French horn, trumpet, trombone, bass trombone, tuba,
harp, percussion (including timpani), and orchestral piano/keyboard.
Applications will be accepted beginning on June 1, 2012. To be
considered for a position, students should complete online registration
by September 7, 2012 and submit all required supporting materials,
including an audition video by November 1, 2012. For more
