Fifty years! Over the course of that timeframe Louisville Youth Orchestra ensembles have presented more than 500 performances, touched the lives of over 5,000 members and played for over 75,000 audience members. A great portion of those youth members have gone on to musical performance careers of their own or, if not, most have become the arts supporter, patron, teacher or board member of countless arts agencies throughout the country and in some cases, the world.

During this season of celebration the LYO will premiere newly commissioned works, play with rising youth stars and internationally known professionals and join forces with exceptional musicians of our own city. We will continue to provide the highest quality musical experience possible for our members while offering Metro Louisville and surrounding areas the very best in family-friendly performances.

The musical youth of the LYO are very special individuals – practicing countless hours, dedicating themselves to the rehearsal and performance process and striving for perfection on their chosen instrument.
